Il servizio Notizie di AltaVista possiede tutti i comandi di ricerca usati per la ricerca web. Basta inserire la richiesta nella casella di ricerca, come di consueto.
- Se si inserisce più di una parola, AltaVista troverà solo articoli che includano tutte le parole.
- Per escludere parole, posiziona un segno meno davanti ad esse.
- Per richiedere una frase esatta, inserirla tra virgolette.
- Utilizza i comandi booleani come AND, OR, o ANDNOT.
You can also narrow your search by selecting a topic, a language, a region or country, a certain news source or a specific date range from the drop-down menus within the search box. You're able to drill down into even more specific refinement using two or three of these dimensions.
Search by specific date
The date menu in the search box lets you select news from today to more than a year ago. We automatically search the past two weeks.
If you select "Date range..." in the menu, the form expands so you can enter specific dates, for example 11/3/02 to 11/5/02.

Finding articles with photos
To find articles that have photos, check the "Only articles with images" checkbox next to the FIND button. This is especially useful when you want to better visualize a story or find a particular image.
